About
Olivia Ark is a sumi-e artist and haiga poet.

Not to be confused with any other authors of the same name, Olivia Ark lives and works in Melbourne, Australia, along with her fiancé and their new puppy, Hamlet.
Olivia was one of the winners of The University of Melbourne’s 2nd annual Billboard Poetry Competition 2025, and has had her haiku displayed around Melbourne. She was also the winner of the Haiku Sanctuary 2020 Kukai competition as well as the Australian Haiku Society’s Kukai Competition. Her haiga (in collaboration with Rob Scott) received an honourable mention in the Jane Reichhold Memorial Haiga Competition, and her haiku have been transcribed into braille and added to the State Library of Victoria’s Collection. She has also judged competitions for both the New Zealand Poetry Society and the Australian Haiku Society as well as the NACA Queensland.
This website is the only place you’ll be able to find her words and artwork as she’s not on social media. However, you can also find some of her illustrations inside Under the Same Moon: Fourth Australian Haiku Anthology ( Forty South Publishing, 2023). More to come soon. We hope you visit again.
